4/7/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: JaCaeri has started his week off in an aggressive manner, as he self reported he was verbally aggressive towards a peer in the community last night 2xâs with moderate intensity during a 4-5 minute incident. JaCaeri reported the incident started when they argued over an NBA playoff game last night. Behavior: JaCaeri self reported he got angry and cursed at the peer 2-3xâs with moderate intensity during the 4-5 minute incident. He then reported QMHP-C was contacted by his mother to request the session for today. Intervention: QMHP-C probed JaCaeri as to his request for todayâs individual counseling session. QMHP-C then encouraged JaCaeri to use the âthought stoppingâ techniques which allows him a chance to think about his actions before acting them out aggressively, especially over an NBA basketball game. QMHP-C also verbalized to JaCaeri the importance of maintaining a low voice tone when communicating his feelings openly two peers to avoid aggressive incident. Intervention: QMHP-C used the âempty chair âtechnique with JaCaeri which also allows him to openly express his feelings to the chair as if he was speaking to the pier to practice appropriate ways to communicate versus displaying aggression to expressed his feelings. QMHP-C then commended JaCaeri for being attentive and alert from the start of session until the session ended today. Response: JaCaeri seemed receptive to todayâs individual counseling session, evidenced by his ability to verbalize understanding of session. JaCaeri responded positively to the âthought stoppingâ technique and verbalized he thought about using the technique but did not think it would work because the negative peer had threatened him. Response: JaCaeri reported at that point he had to defend himself by using inappropriate language which ultimately backed the peer away from him. JaCaeri also stated the âempty chairâ technique has worked for him in the past and he will try to use it again if encountering the peer again in the next few days. JaCaeri remained calm and thanked QMHP-C for todayâs session and vowed to do a much better job during the week with controlling his aggression.
